Friday night chillout!

Hummus

1 full cup chickpeas

1 large garlic clove

salt and pepper

pinch cayenne

1/4 cup olive oil

1 heaped teaspoon cumin

1 or 2 tablespoons tahini

lemon juice to flavour

water

Blitz everything in a food processor. I add more of what I like for flavour,

often more lemon juice, and more cumin. I add water to make it a

smooth consistency.

are taught to come and go loyally to their owner each day.

Local Nuts!

Ngali Nuts

Sold in disposable packaging at the market!

Shelled and unshelled nuts

These nuts are very versatile. They don't have a strong flavour,

so they are great in salads, muesli and cakes.

I usually buy a few packs, shell them, then bake them

until light brown, and then they store really well.

Yummy sweet things to make with local products...

COCONUT cupcakes

BANANA Chocolate Chip Muffins

RECIPE

80g butter
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tblspn golden syrup
1 egg
2 cups white flour
2 tsp a baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
150 ml warm milk
2 bananas mashed
1/2 cup chocolate chips

METHOD
Cream butter, sugar and golden syrup together until pale. Add egg and mix well.
Add sifted flour and baking powder. Add baking soda to the warmed milk and
then add the milk to the mixture. Mix well. Lastly add bananas and chocolate
chips. Divide evenly into muffin tins and bake at 170 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
(Very moist and delicious.)
